The family of Ray W. Loomis and the Blackhawk Technical College Foundation are pleased to announce the award of the 2009 Ray W. Loomis Memorial Scholarship to Tracy L. Anderson of Albany, Wisconsin. Tracy is currently enrolled in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville. She graduated from Warren High School in Warren, Wisconsin.
The scholarship is awarded in the memory of Ray W. Loomis, who was an educator, administrator and principal. After his retirement in 1976, he worked part-time at Blackhawk Technical College until 2000, where he touched the lives of many through his friendly nature and positive attitude. He remained a strong supporter of students while at Blackhawk Tech. Friends and family joined together in collecting contributions following his death on September 22, 2006 to fund an annual scholarship through the Blackhawk Technical College Foundation. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolled at Blackhawk Tech. Through this scholarship, the family and friends of Ray W. Loomis believe the memory of Ray will remain alive while helping others to attain their dreams.
